New Podcast: An Interview with Brown Community Management

Last week we got to sit down with Bob Brown, Jonathan Brown, and Tim Macica from Brown Community Management (BCM) to record a new podcast. BCM is the new community management company for Lyon’s Gate. They assumed that role on November 1st, 2020, following the sudden resignation of our previous management company. This conversation took place on Wednesday, January 13th at BCM’s offices in Mesa.

This interview contains important information for the residents of Lyon’s Gate and it’s a good opportunity to get acquainted with BCM and learn more about them and what their partnership with the Lyon’s Gate Community means for all of us. Under New Management

The Lyon’s Gate Board of Directors is pleased to announce that today, November 1st 2020, the Lyon’s Gate Community Association entered into a partnership with our new property management company, Brown Community Management. Effective today, Brown Community Management replaces City Property Management as Lyon’s Gate managing partner.

As part of this transition, we’re also pleased to introduce you to our new on-site Property Manager, Marlen Rasmussen. Marlen will be on site Monday – Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, beginning this Monday. You’ll see her around the community and in the clubhouse office as she begins her new role in Lyon’s Gate.

Marlen Rasmussen joined Brown Community Management in 2017 and has been a community manager for over 3 years. Marlen has her CAAM certification through AACM and attends continuing education courses throughout the year.  A local to Gilbert herself, Marlen has managed several communities in the Gilbert and Chandler area and shines at board relations and homeowner support. Marlen lives by the saying: “Your neighborhood, My passion”.

Fun Facts: Marlen was born and raised in AZ and has lived in the East Valley her whole life.  Marlen enjoys visiting the Gilbert Farmers Market during her down time.

As Property Manager, Marlen is available on site during normal business hours to answer any of your questions and assist residents. She is a valuable resource both during this transition period and for years to come. Marlen will soon be joined by a full-time on-site assistant. Stop in and say hello.

Notification of New Assessment Payment Options

On Thursday, October 29th, residents of Lyon’s Gate were sent a detailed welcome letter via email from Brown Community Management. This important welcome letter contains detailed information and instructions for payment of HOA assessment fees during this transition period. The email notification reads in part:


Dear Lyon’s Gate Owner,

Starting November 1, 2020 Brown Community Management will be the new HOA management company for Lyon’s Gate Community Association. Attached is a welcome letter that will provide you the following information: 

  • New Account Number (This account number is unique to your home/lot)
  • Assessment Payment Options
  • Brown Community Management Office Location / Website Address / Phone Number

Please note that this electronic mail is being sent to the primary e-mail address we have on file for your home/lot. We kindly request that you forward this information to any additional owners for your property that need to be made aware of this change. Also remember that this letter provides your unique account number (specific to your home/lot), therefore, we recommend you keep it private.

The attachment referenced above contains detailed instructions unique to each homeowner. Please note, if you have already mailed your November payment to the prior management company’s remittance address, it will be processed and included with the account information provided to Brown Community Management in November. Any payments received after October 30th will be forwarded to Brown and will be process without delay.

The new homeowner portal for Brown Community Management will be available to Lyon’s Gate residents on November 5th 2020.

Thank you for your patience during this transition period. Questions regarding payment of HOA fees during the transition can be directed to Brown Community Management at (480) 539-1396. Brown will assume the management role for Lyon’s Gate on November 1st, 2020 and the new Property Manager for Lyon’s Gate will be announced.

HOA Board Executive Session

There will be an Executive session of the Lyon’s Gate Board of Directors this Thursday, October 29th at 7:00 PM. This is a closed session for the purpose of interviewing and potentially selecting a new Community Manager for Lyon’s Gate. Yesterday, Brown Community Management sent the following notification via email to Lyon’s Gate residents.


Good afternoon Residents of Lyon’s Gate!

Brown Community Management is proud to be working with your elected board of directors to ensure as smooth a transition as possible. On Thursday, October 29th at 7:00 p.m., the board will be meeting at the clubhouse in executive session to interview and potentially select a community manager that will best fit the needs of Lyon’s Gate.

We appreciate your vote of confidence, and very much look forward to working with you all.

New Property Management Company Selected

At the October 21st HOA meeting, the Board of Directors selected a new Property Management company to partner with the Lyon’s Gate community. The transition to Brown Community Management is already underway and their transition team is working to ensure a smooth transition from City Property Management by October 31st.

More information will follow as it becomes available and residents will be kept up-to-date of important events, dates, and changes in processes.
